About Matt

My name’s Matt Coffman, and I am a guitar teacher located in Nashville, Tennessee.
I teach acoustic guitar to total beginners on up to advanced players, all ages, all styles. If you want to get started playing guitar the right way without picking up bad habits, then I’m your teacher!

One of my specialties is helping students acquire great technique in record time. I have a special love for fingerstyle guitar, and I happily teach everything from classical, Brazilian jazz, folk and fingerstyle blues as well as acoustic rock, folk, country and bluegrass.

Many people want to learn to play guitar, tons try to learn how to play guitar, but few actually push through those initial weeks and months and make it to where they can play their favorite songs.

A great teacher can keep you on track and speed up your learning process by helping you stay focused on the stuff that really creates great results.
